The name, Whyte Dove Press, was derived from the names of the founder's grandmothers, Irene (from Greek word for "peace") and Dovie ("little dove"), plus the founder's own first name, which is based on the Greek word for "pure," and last name, which provides the "y" in Whyte.

Note: WDP Staff and contributors are not required to agree with every detail of WDP's 10 Tenets or to agree with one another on every point of doctrine. We have, however, agreed to work within the parameters of WDP's 10 Tenets while seeking to promote the Bible's values on this web site to the best of our abilities.
Because WDP seeks to offer such a variety of information and entertainment, it is simpler to list what we do not offer or accept. WDP's 10 Tenets are a summary of the types of material WDP does not publish in any form, including this web site. You will not find such material being discussed or critiqued in the WDP online groups, workshops, and forums.
Visitors, contributors, and participants in our online groups, and workshops do not need to agree with all our tenets in order to comply with them. These tenets exist to provide an environment in which diverse people may learn, enjoy, share, and interact with reasonable assurance of what we can all expect from the WDP web site and WDP publications.
If you are thinking of joining our Online Writers' Critique Group, entering our Contest, or submitting material for publication on our web site, please consider if your writing project or submission is within the guidelines of WDP's 10 Tenets. When in doubt, we encourage you to e-mail us with your concerns.
WDP's 10 Tenets
Content of submissions to WDP may include examples of things that are not encouraged or condoned by the work,
even as the Bible includes examples of things that are in contrast to its stated values.
Tenets which are applicable to content will say so.
