White DoveThe name, Whyte Dove Press, was derived from the names of the founder's grandmothers, Irene (from Greek word for "peace") and Dovie ("little dove"), plus the founder's own first name, which is based on the Greek word for "pure," and last name, which provides the "y" in Whyte.

Note: WDP Staff and contributors are not required to agree with every detail of WDP's 10 Tenets or to agree with one another on every point of doctrine.  We have, however, agreed to work within the parameters of WDP's 10 Tenets while seeking to promote the Bible's values on this web site to the best of our abilities.

Why WDP's 10 Tenets?

Because WDP seeks to offer such a variety of information and entertainment, it is simpler to list what we do not offer or accept. WDP's 10 Tenets are a summary of the types of material WDP does not publish in any form, including this web site. You will not find such material being discussed or critiqued in the WDP online groups, workshops, and forums.

Visitors, contributors, and participants in our online groups, and workshops do not need to agree with all our tenets in order to comply with them. These tenets exist to provide an environment in which diverse people may learn, enjoy, share, and interact with reasonable assurance of what we can all expect from the WDP web site and WDP publications.

If you are thinking of joining our Online Writers' Critique Group, entering our Contest, or submitting material for publication on our web site, please consider if your writing project or submission is within the guidelines of WDP's 10 Tenets. When in doubt, we encourage you to e-mail us with your concerns.

WDP's 10 Tenets
Content of submissions to WDP may include examples of things that are not encouraged or condoned by the work,
even as the Bible includes examples of things that are in contrast to its stated values.
Tenets which are applicable to content will say so.

  1. WDP publishes nothing that encourages or condones the ridicule or hatred of another person or group of persons.
  2. WDP publishes nothing that encourages or condones denial of the existence or distortion of the character of the GOD of the Bible or that denies the supremacy and infallibility of the Word of GOD -- both the eternal Word, who tabernacled in flesh among men as Messiah Y'shua (Jesus), and the written Word of the Holy Bible, as originally inspired and recorded.
  3. WDP publishes nothing that focuses on the gifts/graces of the Holy Spirit apart from His fruit and the Word through which He works, that elevates the gift of tongues above the others, or that denies the Spirit's deity.
  4. WDP publishes nothing that encourages, glorifies, condones, or makes light of any lifestyle, practice, attitude, or belief not encouraged by the Bible; this includes but is not limited to: magic, sorcery, witchcraft, demons, pagan gods and myths, and mythological creatures, and rebellion.
  5. WDP publishes nothing to encourage pre-adolescent children to emulate adolescents or that condones or makes light of such.
  6. WDP publishes no content so explicit that GOD-fearing parents would be ashamed if their adolescent children read it or would be afraid their younger children would be harmed if exposed to it.
  7. WDP publishes nothing that encourages ideas of humanism (including the assumption of innate goodness in mankind) or that encourages placing an emphasis on oneself in a manner inconsistent with the Bible.
  8. WDP publishes no content with profanity or obvious substitutions for profanity or that uses Biblical words or the names of GOD and Jesus Christ in any manner other than the Bible does.
  9. WDP publishes nothing that encourages people to consume man-made "foods" or man-made "medicines" or unclean meats.
  10. WDP publishes nothing that promotes holidays other than the holy days listed in Leviticus 23, Purim (book of Esther),  Hanukah/"Feast of Dedication" (John 10:22) and Thanksgiving Day (U.S.)
We at Whyte Dove Press realize that we may, at times, accept material some people will feel we should reject or reject material some people will feel we should accept.  Such things are often subjective.  WDP's 10 Tenets are as objective as we could write them in order to give all concerned a reasonable expectation of what they will find when they see the name, Whyte Dove Press.  We apologize in advance for those times we disappoint and ask that you e-mail us your comments with clarity and kindness.

Thank you for your interest.
